Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Originally from Worthington Ohio she dropped out of high school in order to relocate in Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. Her first role came to her in the film, Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. The role she played of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV film Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her an award nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford, the character in Lost from 2004 until 2005 was selected for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace quit the show in 2005 to pursue the role of a greater part in movies, and had a role opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. In addition, she appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day version that Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised the role as Shannon in two episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. In 2013, she was a guest in the sixth episode of Californication. She plays Faith an actress who acts as a muse to the stars and catches the eye of Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She's the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as older that Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens she appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also co-starred with her older twin brother on Donnie Darko the cult classic. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal wrote and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. It was also nominated to the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
